Location-Based Services Terms

Article 1 (Purpose) These Terms govern the conditions of use, procedures, and rights and responsibilities between the company and users for Walkfolk's ("Company") location-based services. Article 2 (Location-Based Service Content) The Company provides the following location-related features: ① Region-based guide search: Search for local guides based on the region (province/city, district) selected by the user ② Interactive map: Area exploration using external map services (Leaflet, OpenStreetMap, etc.) ③ Region filter: Filter guide listings by region ④ Appointment location sharing: A confirmed appointment participant may explicitly share a current-location update with the other participant Article 3 (Scope of Location Information Collected) Walkfolk processes a current GPS location only when a user explicitly chooses to show it on the map or taps share/update location for a confirmed appointment. • Appointment location sharing is available from 5 hours before the appointment until 3 hours after its start time (or its explicit end time, when provided). • A shared location is visible only to the traveler and guide in that appointment. • Walkfolk does not continuously track a user's location while the app is closed or in the background. Article 4 (Purpose of Using Location Information) • Providing local guide listings based on user-selected region • Providing region filter functionality • Displaying map service (based on regional coordinates) • Helping confirmed appointment participants find each other Article 5 (Retention and Usage Period) Selected region information is used for service discovery. Appointment location updates are stored and displayed only until the user stops sharing or the appointment's limited sharing window ends. Article 6 (Third-Party Provision of Location Information) The Company does not sell or arbitrarily provide location information to third parties. If a user explicitly enables appointment location sharing, the current location may be displayed to the other participant in that appointment. Regional coordinate information displayed on screen for map rendering may be connected with external map services (OpenStreetMap, etc.). Article 7 (User Rights) ① Users may withdraw consent to location information use at any time. ② Contact us below for inquiries regarding location information. Article 8 (Service Changes and Suspension) The Company may change or suspend location-based services with prior notice.
